Yes. The Wellness Floor and Smart Heat are both made to South Korean manufacturing standards and tested independently by laboratories in several countries rather than checked in-house. The Wellness Floor is also made free from common toxins including phthalates, lead, BPA, PVC, and formaldehyde.

Can I buy directly from Matnificent?

Yes. You can buy directly from us, and we install with our own in-house team, so one company measures your space, supplies the floor, and fits it.

At our Los Angeles showroom, where the Wellness Floor and Smart Heat are both set up and running so you can walk on them barefoot. Visits are by appointment, seven days a week.

It also lays directly over tile, so nothing has to be torn out first.

No. We can cover as much or as little of a space as you want. The floor is custom cut to any shape, and we finish the boundary so it transitions cleanly to your existing floor. Many homes start with one area, a nursery corner or a play space, and add more later.

How thick is the Wellness Floor, and will my doors still clear it?

The finished floor stands just under an inch tall. Where clearance is tight, we carry specialty pieces made for thresholds and doorways, and trimming a door is an option we handle as part of the installation.

How do I clean and care for the Wellness Floor?

Accepted Answer

Dusting and vacuuming handles the day to day, with a deeper clean now and then. Water and a mop lifts most marks, and a dry sweeper mop or any mild cleaner works fine. Harsh cleaning agents are never necessary.

How long does the Matnificent Wellness Floor last?

With proper care we expect up to 20 years. The real figure depends on how a space is lived in: daily wear, what the floor is exposed to, and the environment around it.

Can the Wellness Floor be removed or taken with me if I move?

Yes. It lays over your existing floor rather than being glued down, so it can be lifted and relaid in a new home. At the end of its life it can be recycled.

What type of heat does Matnificent Smart Heat generate?

Far infrared radiant heat. Instead of heating air and blowing it around, the system warms the floor and the surfaces in the room directly, so warmth rises evenly from underfoot rather than gathering at the ceiling.

How does Smart Heat compare to electric cable and hydronic radiant heating?

Accepted Answer

Smart Heat is a carbon system, and it is simpler on nearly every count. Installation is low complexity, against medium for electric cables and high for hydronic. It warms up fast, where cables are moderate and hydronic is slow. Maintenance is minimal, where cable systems are difficult to service and hydronic is ongoing. It is ultra slim, and it needs no mechanical room.

How quickly does the floor warm up?

Quickly. Because the system heats the floor directly rather than warming water first, it reaches temperature faster than a hydronic system, which has to heat and circulate water before you feel anything.

Does Smart Heat need a boiler or a mechanical room?

Accepted Answer

No. There is no boiler, no water, and no pipework, so no part of your home has to be given over to mechanical equipment. That is one of the clearest differences from a hydronic system, which needs a boiler, a manifold, and somewhere to put them.

Is demolition required to install Smart Heat?

Often not. Depending on what is on your floor now, the system can go directly over the existing surface and be finished with a new floor above it. It is decided case by case, which is what the consultation is for.

How much height does Smart Heat add to my floor?

For most projects, between half an inch and two thirds of an inch. The exact height depends on which layers your project needs, so it does vary. A consultation lets us assess the space and give you a firmer number.

Can Smart Heat be installed in a bathroom?

Yes. Smart Heat has been tested and proven to work in bathrooms when installed and secured properly. What matters is that the finished floor above it is sealed correctly, so we check the sealing along moldings, crevices, and joints before signing anything off.

Yes. When both are installed together, Smart Heat goes in first and the Wellness Floor lays directly above it, so the warmth rises through the surface you walk on.

How is Smart Heat powered and controlled?

It runs on electricity and is controlled through a smart thermostat that works with the major smart home platforms, including Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Home. Set schedules, adjust rooms, or use a voice command. The electrical work is handled as part of the installation and quoted separately.

Yes. The system is built and tested to recognized safety standards, and independent testing shows very low EMF output while it is installed and running. It sits under a finished floor with nothing to service, and we install it with our own team or our certified installers.

We expect at least 20 years, and often longer. Every household uses heat differently, so 20 years is the minimum we build toward rather than the limit.

We price per square foot, covering both the flooring and the installation. Smart Heat is priced the same way, with an additional variable cost for the electrical work. You receive your pricing during the consultation, once we understand the space.

We are based in Los Angeles County and serve the surrounding Southern California area. For larger projects our team has traveled several hundred miles, with delivery charges added for the distance. If you are outside our usual radius, please reach out. We may still be able to serve your area.

It depends on the scope of the project, the distance, and what our installers already have booked. Once the details are confirmed we can move to scheduling right away, with our in-house team or our certified installer partners.

What does the Matnificent warranty cover?

Accepted Answer

The Wellness Floor and Smart Heat each carry a 10 year warranty against manufacturer defects affecting function. For the Wellness Floor, it does not cover damage caused after installation, alterations from improper handling or maintenance, or natural discoloration through oxidation or chemical reaction. For Smart Heat, it does not cover alterations made outside our team, or damage caused by water.
